Adding elastomers to channel trucks

Adding elastomers (the rubber things!) into the springs in your channel trucks can really help to combat the problem of speed wobble and generally make the board feel better to ride, it is not a difficult task but is definitely easier with two people, this guide should show you the basic stages

1. Undo the bolts on both the top and bottom of the truck which hold the springs in, DO NOT undo the kingpin! Do this one side at a time, on both trucks.

2. Get your assistant to put all their weight on the opposite side of the deck so the spring is not under and compression

3. Take out the spring, insert the rubber elastomer and then replace it

4. Repeat this process on the other side of the board and you will have a completely transformed board! Wave goodbye to speed wobble and go out riding :-)

Some people find that just the elastomers on their own do not make the trucks tight enough, you can add washers both above and below the springs to compress them slightly making it harder to turn, this is a matter of personal preference. You can also buy harder elastomers and springs from most kite shops
