Packaging, Style + Construction: |
Well it comes in a very nice bag, but very big and quite heavy, the expandable mesh and opening bottom are great, saves so much time when packing up, or of if its really windy and the kites getting blown around, it also has board straps and bar pocket and over all a very nice and well built backpack, that fell good when your wearing it. Lines are 27m coloured sleaving for easy line recognition, after about 3 hours in total the lines hadn't need to be adjusted or any thing over all just a nice strong set of lines. Control is using a very small carbon bar, fits nicely in the hand, the new sheeting system is also very affective and easy to used IMHO (in my humble opinion), the bar floats are nice but not really necessary for land use but ill leave them how it is, the chicken loop seems stronger than the ozone, naish and flexifoil ones ive used in the past. The chicken loop release works really well and the release on the leash is very smart, when activated it totally gets rid of all the power and is very easy to set back up, im pretty impressed. The new compact spars seem very nice and I like the way it gives you the option to to totally pack down the kite if say your going on a plane, the only thing i found with them is that the ends seem to have splintered but a bit of finishing paper on them seems to have stopped this. Construction wise first impressions are very good all the seams are stitched double stitched, reinforced and then glued. the line webbing seem a really good idea and the kite seems to hold its shape better than the G1, both the zips (deflate and inflate) are both air and water tight as opposed to the one on the G1. Dump vales for water and muck you get stuck in seemed a good idea, the fabric seems very strong but is also really light. Overall just great build quality. |
| Setup and Flying: |
Setup is very simple: Put the spars in, unwind and connect the lines and your basically done very fast does take as long as i was expecting, inflation is also improved over the G1 as the kite needs hardly any inflation before it wants to get off the ground, it also take a lot less wind than i was expect to get the kite inflated, i've had in up and flying in 4/6 mph ok so it was great but what do you expect in that wind. A bit hard when on your own but is possible if you put a weight on the upwind tip (i use the backpack with a 1.5 ltr bottle of water, good if ya need a drink after a session) but if you can get a helper launching is a doodle, landing on your own is however quite hard and the kite will rip even cork screw stakes in the ground with no problems, best to have someone help with landing especially when it gets windy. The kite flies really nicely and is super stable, very fast through the window too, when boarding it just so smooth to ride with and the kite does not luff, it also hand gusts fantastically well compared to other kites i've flown, the depower is very good and doesn't affect the kite flying to much really just the power, My 13 flys on only a 45 cm bar and still turns very fast. The kites speed allows you to boost massive jumps and get some very impressive speed runs on the board. |

Jumping: |
Well what can I say the kite is incredible. The lift is amazing as is the float, its great, it gives you so much time to do your desired trick and landing are super smooth. The height and distance of the jumps is second to none. This kite will blow you away with its lift and you can often go too high (yes it is possible) this kite is a total jumping machine. |

Final Summary: |
So far im super impressed with the kite in all aspects and cant wait to get a few more sessions with it to really perfect my technique with this beast, all I can really say is this is a top class kite. |
