Introduction: |
The Mac range of kites is relatively unknown within the kiting community; they are another paraglider manufacturer which has diverged into kites. Anyone who has a look at the Mac bego will realize that this is kite to look out for in the future. The reason will become apparent as soon as you get the opportunity to fly one at a festival, event or from a nice friend! |

Packaging, Style + Construction: |
The kites are made from Skytex, with a dyneema sheathed bridle. The wing tips are depowerable (by that I mean there is a small ring in the end of the trailing edge so when the brakes are applied it pulls in the wingtip to add quicker turning). An interesting feature is that main lines of the kite are connected together at the bridle line with a single line that helps retain the bridle profile of the kite, and also the main and bridle lines are connected by a short piece of line to stop the brake bridle drag. The kite comes in pretty plain draw string bag. |

Jumping: |
The kite delivered its power smoothly, and also had a tremendous amount of lift for the wind speed used, I think the lift was mainly derived from the speed of the kite rather than static lift created by the profile alone. |

KiteATB’ing: |
The kite literally blew me away when I tried it, I had just come off a boarding session with a 6.6 in which the winds were just starting to kick in for the kite to become sweet. As soon as I got the 6M Bego kite in the sky the pull was tremendous, I hopped onto the board and it sped along well, and kept me powered up. The Begos power delivery was also very smooth which should be a good boarding engine due to the lift and speed of the kite. |
|
Final Summary: |
The kites are a pure light wind dream, they inflate well low winds especially helped due to the reinforced air vents, overall this is an amazing kite and I'm surprised that there are not more of these kites around. Many thanks to Atmosphere Kites for allowing me the chance to try a very well made and performing kite. |
