Introduction: |
The makers of the kite Gin Gliders are relatively unknown with the UK Kite community, although they have actually been the paragliding world cup winners for the last 5 years. The company has been going for 15 years, and when looking at the kite you can see that their experience and knowledge has been transferred across into their kites. |

Packaging, Style + Construction: |
The kite comes in a drawstring bag, but does have the option of a rucksack to buy. The rucksack, has all you want, normal bits around main compartment, and separate units, though it is nice to see a bag that is designed to last unlike some other offerings from different manufactures. When you first lay out the kite on the ground the thing that strikes you most is the way that the trailing edge has a well defined curve / V shape. The shape of the TE is so that the kite has a better speed and power distribution throughout the window, and to also help reduce weight. With this being a kite from a paraglider company the materials used in construction are very good, with porcher marine for the fabric. Another innovation on the kite package, is the handles; the design of them has incorporated a quick trimming system (picture in gallery), a good idea allowing the brake lines to be altered, to suit flying style and wind conditions. |

Jumping: |
Although this kite is primarily aimed towards the buggy market, it still has the lift when you send it right behind you on the way for a jump, I only really managed to get one jumping session out of the kite; but it was very stable overhead, and due to the speed of the kite it helped on the setup of the jumps. |

KiteATB’ing: |
When it comes to using the kite boarding one thing that shines out is the stability of the kite as it flies through the window, I have used it in some gusty conditions and it has held up well and only had a major luff once, when it totally overflow the window in a large gust. Yet when you are on the board you can trust its stability at the edge of the window, and it delivers the power smoothly, a constant pull when you fly the kite across the window. |

Final Summary: |
Overall this kite has a lot of things going for it; the stability of the kite will help beginners as well as the fact that there is a constant power delivery, its feels as though it would not catch you out when learning. If the wind does drop the kite does not just drop out of the sky, instead the air pressure is still maintained in the sail and it just appears to float back into the window, to wait for the wind to return (obviously if it totally drops it will end up on the floor!). The kite is worth the money in my opinion, well made and flies beautifully. The trimming handles are an interesting feature that may need to be refined due to the length and comfort factor using them, though after a while I did adapt to them. Many thanks to UK Airsports for allowing me the chance to fly the Yoz, it is a great kite from a good brand. |
