Introduction:

I have mainly flown this kite as a depowerable kite on the bar as i feel this is the best setup for KiteATB. When you first launch the kite you notice it has much less power than a standard 4-line foil of the same size, this is due to it being depowerable, the same is shown in many other depowerable foils. The 5.4 gives a similar amount of power to a 4m Blade but could be taken out in a much greater wind range. The second thing to notice is the kite really doesn't like turbulent wind, flying downwind of trees, buildings etc can take some getting used to as the kite will suddenly collapse at the edge of the window and open in the middle. This can be easily solved by keeping the kite moving and not depowering it too much.

Packaging, Style + Construction:

The bag the kites come in is a very good duffle style bag with mesh on the front and a drawstring top. It is the perfect length for the bar to fit inside and their is plenty of room for the kite. There is a natty system where when the bag is empty it can be folded up and zipped into a small belt style bag so it can easily be carried with you when flying.
The construction of the kites is exactly what you would expect from a paraglider manufacturer, bombproof. The materials used are very lightweight yet strong and all the stitching on the cells is internal. There is no mesh gauze on the cell openings so anything which gets inside can easily be taken out.

Jumping:

This kite does not have the massive overhead lift that some kites have but once you are up to speed there is plenty of lift available for nice jumps, even the 5.4 feels quite floaty which surprised me for a kite of this size.

Flying:

Flying this kite is brilliant in clean winds. It is super stable yet offers excellent speed and jumps, definitely a kite designed for boarding with it does not offer maximum performance until you are moving at a good speed on the board.

Final Summary:

A massively underrated kite the Advance Offroad performs well in most conditions, only being let down slightly by its poor performance in very turbulent winds. A kite for all levels of ability from complete beginner to highly advanced the kite will grow and offer you more as you learn with it.
