There are a few known IE/FF bugs to do with the popup on the graph. Feel free to feedback any others to me, and due to a technical issue its English Ports only. . .i’ll update you when the full UK database is implimented.

Grab Basics

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

So Jumpings getting a bit boring now? You feel the need to start using your hands? Get some stylish grabs in? tweak them to their full potential and completly wow those already staring crowds? Once thats all done, submit your photo on KiteGallery and send us the link and we might feature you as the realife example!

Slob

The Slob is a grab done with the leading hand on the toeside, between the nose and binding, this means that the kite has to be redirected forwards with the trailing hand whilst hooked in.

Crail

The Crail is done with the trailing hand on the toeside, between the nose and binding, this means its a bit of a confusing and hard grab to do whilst flying the kite, the kite needs to be redirected and the trailing hand has to cross the body.

Tailgrab

The Tailgrab is quite possibly the easiest grab to do, simple redirection of the kite with the leading hand, whilst grabbing the tail of the board with the trailing hand.

Nuclear

The Nuclear is done with the trailing hand, between the tail and the back foot, this is another easy grab but don’t forget to redirect the kite and watch out incase your hand skims the wheel as you might get a friction burn.

Method

The Method is probably the trick which can be tweaked most and also one of the easiest, grab the heelside edge with either hand, redirect the kite with the other hand, put a big grin on your face and look stylish.

Palmer

The Palmer is similar to the Nuclear, just use your front hand between the nose and front foot on the heelside edge and bring your trailing hand across the bar to redirect.

Meloncholy

The Meloncholy is possibly one of the harder grabs to do with the kite, for one thing the kite must be redirected with the trailing hand, and secondly the leading hand has to go around the back of the boarders legs and catch the heelside edge between the tail and back foot – quite a distance on a longer board.
