>I have mainly flown this kite as a depowerable kite on the bar as i feel this is the best setup for KiteATB. When you first launch the kite you notice it has much less power than a standard 4-line foil of the same size, this is due to it being depowerable, the same is shown in many other depowerable foils.
I can only comment on some aspects of the test regime as being a valved foil, it has its quirks. These will be covered in the full review once I get a few more hours under this kite. The first flight was a static one in 18mph on land. I was apprehensive to say the least and sent the kite up carefully to the top corner of the window.
Boom are not a well known brand, they have had some very nice kites in the past – the beautiful Prion for example, although their target market is more along to the lines of the snow and water community their kites are still usable on an ATB
Ok Ok, everyone wants to hear about this kite, but few people have seen and flown this new Flexi’ I’m sure you’ve all heard rumors about of Chris Caltrop Kite-Surfing in 5mph winds and getting 10ft. airs with the 8.5m, and maybe even got to talk with the shop owners down to test fly it recently, who most likely either told you they didn’t know what the fuss was about or shouted from the rooftops how great they were for boarding in the light winds
